Writing Worksheets

These writing worksheets for homeschool kids are intended to challenge them a little bit and also make it fun. Adding color and grahpics to appeal to the very young seems to be important to engage them in the work.

I had seen the idea before using Christmas presents. So I made these worksheets and came up some other ideas since they won't always be used around the holidays.

Generally what I do is use one set as a guided activity where we either work together on it, or I model working on it. Then the other set is for the student to work on his own.

The student is asked to persuade someone his pumpkin is friendly. The intent here is to make it harder to persuade. So if the story says their pumpkin is friendly, then they should persuade someone the pumpkin is scary, or boring, or lazy, or something.
