I created the Geometry lapbook and the Geometry village
because I thought geometry lends itself
well to project based learning or hands on learning. The intent was to forego worksheets and
learn by doing. It worked rather well for us though your mileage may vary. Just keep in mind
these projects take a long time to complete.
The geometry lapbook also covers measurement concepts.
The instructions start on page 5 of the sheets on the right hand side of this page. Be sure to review
the instructions for the geometry lapbook before beginning.
We also spent a bit of time learning how to make shapes accurately with a compass and/or protractor. There
are youtube videos that show this. While we followed these instructions for some shapes, this was mostly
for fun, and in no way was she expected to remember these. But I do recommend watching some of them.
